Current information for visits to the Veste Coburg Art Collections and the European Museum of Modern Glass

We are delighted to welcome you back after such a long break. To protect other visitors and the museum staff, here are the latest rules and information:

  • You do not need to book tickets in advance.
  • Please bring your own face mask covering your mouth and nose and wear it from the moment you enter the premises and for the duration of your visit to protect the other visitors and our staff. We are unfortunately obliged to refuse admission to visitors without a face mask covering their mouth and nose. This applies even on presentation of a medical certificate certifying that the person cannot wear/is exempt from wearing a face mask.
  • A one-way system is in place for visits, which begin in the Fürstenbau (Prince’s Hall) and end in the Herzoginbau (Duchess’s Hall).
  • Visitors must observe physical distancing of at least 1.5 metres.
  • A maximum number of visitors applies for smaller rooms such as the Schanzezimmer  (Schanze Rooms) and Lutherstube (Luther Room).
  • The visitors’ toilets in the Fürstenbau (Prince’s Hall), which include nappy changing facilities, and castle courtyard are open.
  • The museum shop is only accessible from the courtyard, not during the course of the visit.
  • The cafeteria is closed, however, drinks and snacks are available from vending machines
  • For reasons of hygiene, no audio guides or touchscreens can be used during visits.
  • We are not allowed to hold guided tours or events.
  • Please observe etiquette as regards sneezing, coughing and hand-washing.
  • Be considerate to other visitors: wait until narrow passages and staircases are free.
  • Only enter smaller rooms if you are able to observe the physical distancing rule of 1.5 metres.
  • Do not spend too much time examining individual exhibits to allow other visitors to view the works.
  • Use of the lifts is reserved for disabled visitors. Please observe hygiene rules in the lift and allow people to leave the lift before you enter while maintaining physical distancing.
